Hi everyone and welcome to my March post for Ocinium where I'll be reviewing their Luminosity Vitamin C Serum*! Last blog post I announced that I would be forming an ongoing collaboration with my favourite natural skincare brand and sharing my thoughts on a different product each month. You may remember in that post I weighed in on Ocinium’s “Brighten & Illuminate Discovery Set” (read here). Now in February’s post, I promised that I would eventually review all three products from the set in depth on the blog. This month, now that the weather in Melbourne, Australia is starting to cool down, I thought it would be an appropriate time to share some thoughts on the wonderful Luminosity Vitamin C Serum.

Here below is my detailed review on the product, after using it for 2 months now.

Application: The Luminosity Vitamin C Serum is definitely for you if you’re someone that dislikes extremely oily serums. This one is so beautiful and lightweight and absorbs well into the skin, while maintaining a protective like film over areas where it has been applied. This acts as a barrier against the elements for up to 10 hours (for me) and helps to lock the moisture into the skin. I am completely in love with the texture as the product feels like a second skin when I wear it.

Results: I have been using this Luminosity Vitamin C Serum alongside the Ocinium Ecdysis Bio-Ferment Enzyme Cleanse and Multi-Vitamin Cream, so it's hard to attribute my wonderful results to the serum alone. I find that everything in the Ocinium range has been designed to work seamlessly together to address your skin concerns. This serum for example works wonderfully with the Ocinium multivitamin cream and really locks the moisture into the skin. However I found that when I used the Luminosity Vitamin C Serum with some other branded moisturizers it felt more astringent and drying on my face. This serum has such a unique texture that I think that it is best to use it with the multi-vitamin cream it has been designed to work alongside with. Together these products have cleared all the acne on my face and my skin is now looking very decent sans make-up! I am so happy! This whole year I've struggled with breakouts so I am very pleased with how the Ocinium range is working for me.

Scent: The overall aroma of the product did take me some time to get used to. The scent was similar to the lemon flavored cod liver oil I take from Nordic naturals, so by association it felt a little strange applying this serum to my face. Despite this, I did grow accustomed to the product and after a week of use the smell no longer phased me.

Packaging: I love the minimalist aesthetic of Ocinium products. The pump bottle allows you to dispense hygienically. The glass bottles are non toxic, so you can be assured no plastic residues are making their way onto your precious face.

*The product reviewed in this post is a PR sample, however all opinions are true to my experience using the product for 2 months.

I love that you tested the product for two months, that’s some good dedication right there, I’m glad you saw some results too 🙂
