Meet Fresh Face Skin, A New Label Revolutionizing Skincare

It was by the strangest chain of events that I met the lovely Amelia, director and creator of Fresh Face Skin. In case you haven’t heard of this label yet, in my opinion it is one of the most innovative skincare lines to launch this year. Call it fate, destiny or being in the right place at the right time - whatever it is I am so glad I met the gorgeous Amelia! It means I am able to share some amazing products designed by an inspiring young girl boss!

It is evident, even speaking to Amelia for a minute, that she has a wealth of knowledge on the many facets of skincare. As she said during her touching speech at Fresh Face Skin’s launch, she poured her “heart and soul” into her product range. This reflects her dedication to providing quality, natural skincare products which will give real results without costing you the earth.

The philosophy and ethos of the brand is definitely what separates Fresh Face Skin from many of the other labels I have shared on Amelia spoke that night of wanting to design a skincare line that was super easy to use, that didn’t involve multiple steps or countless expensive products. I know for myself, when I’m super exhausted at night it can seem like a monumentous task applying the endless list of moisturizers, serums and eye-creams! So more often than not when I feel like this I will forego my night time skincare regime and just go to sleep. This of course isn’t the best move for my skin because as you all know, achieving a natural healthy glow takes commitment and consistency to a skincare regime that works.

Fresh Face Skin however eliminates this problem, as their range is designed to be an all in one serum and moisturiser which is convenient and easy to use. At a price of $39.95 for a bottle that will last 2-3 months, the treatments are accessible to everyone. This is why this skincare line for me is one of the most innovative to launch this year. It takes convenience and affordability to the next level without compromising on quality. Did I also mention the beautiful products are PETA approved cruelty free and made with gorgeous botanical ingredients?

For those wanting to know a little more about the the Fresh Face Skin range and my experiences using them, please read on. Currently there are three products to choose from – the Overnight Healer (for acne inflamed and oily skin), the Overnight Soother (for sensitive, dry, redness-prone skin) and the Overnight Reverser (for combination-normal, ageing, sun-loved, dull, dehydrated skin). Each is targeted at a specific skin concern. It's also worth mentioning that early to mid next year cleansers to match these overnight treatments will be launched, making it a simple 2 step routine. Personally for me, I experience both oiliness and dry patches thanks to psoriasis, so I incorporated both the Overnight Soother and Overnight Healer as part of my skincare plan. A review of these two is included below.

Fresh Face Skin Overnight Healer

Formulation: This product comes in the form of a beautiful lightweight cream, which glides onto the skin effortlessly. Given that the formulation is targeted at inflamed, acne prone skin, I feel this consistency perfect for areas that may be quite painful to touch. The consistency allows the product to spread easily and to be absorbed into the skin without excessive handling required.

Fragrance: The formula has a mild tea tree fragrance, a natural antibacterial that is lovely and quite refreshing. The fact that the scent is so mild means that people with sensitivities to highly fragrant products will be able to enjoy this too.

Packaging: The packaging for the Fresh Face Skin range is consistent among all three products. They come in a beautiful green and white 50ml pump bottle that allows for easy and hygienic dispensing. The "airless pumping" dispense mechanism means, with every pump of product, the product moves closer to the top of the bottle resulting in no wastage or left over product in the bottle.

My experiences with the product: I used the overnight healer as a spot treatment for acne. I usually have flare-ups around my chin area if I forget to drink enough water, eat excessive amounts of dairy or sometimes when it’s that time of month. Usually these sorts of breakouts will lurk around for a couple of weeks, which can be super annoying! I found that applying this product both morning and night to the areas of my skin experiencing acne and excessive oiliness, that it accelerated healing by at least over a week. I have been super impressed with this formulation and will definitely continue to use this as required!

Usage: For acne I have been applying this successfully as a spot treatment both day and night.

Fresh Face Skin Overnight Soother

Formulation: This consistency of this product is very different to the overnight healer I just reviewed. This comes in the form a lightweight clear oil that requires gentle massage to be absorbed. It glides onto the skin effortlessly, however if you don’t massage it in then it will tend to just sit on top of the skin’s surface and absorb quite slowly. Given that the formulation is targeted at dry and sensitive skin though, I feel that this formulation suits the concerns it’s designed for perfectly. Massage stimulates lymphatic drainage and blood flow to the skin, which improves nutrient delivery and waste removal. This can often be a little sluggish in those with dry skin or dry skin conditions like psoriasis or atopic dermatitis. When blood flow to the skin is poor, it does not receive the nutrients it needs for optimal health, which can make it’s appearance seem lack luster, dull and dry. It is lovely that even the smallest details like formulation consistency have been specially designed to best suit to the skin concern it’s aimed at.

Fragrance: Just like the other product I reviewed, this has an extremely mild and almost neutral scent. I can slightly detect a hint of chamomile, which is one of my favourite natural skincare ingredients.

My experiences with the product: I used the overnight soother on patches of skin dryness that occur as a result of my psoriasis. I usually have flare-ups around my hairline, jawline, ears and neck, which can really suck! These sorts of patches are permanent issue I have to be conscious of, as unfortunately psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition of the skin that cannot be cured. Using dietary measures and a consistent skincare regime, I am able to usually keep my skin “normal” and healthy looking, however I am always on the search for products that may help outbreaks! I found that massaging the overnight soother into my skin for 3-5 minutes twice daily, really helped to minimize dryness. The emollient properties of the formulation were super comforting and soothing and noticeably softened my skin. While it was not able to stop my psoriasis completely, it did help with associated itchiness and flaking skin as it deeply penetrates and nourishes the skin barrier. The gentle botanic formulation is definitely so perfect for the sensitive skin types it’s designed for.

Usage: For dry, flaky skin associated with psoriasis I have been applying this successfully to affected areas by massaging it in for 3-5 minutes daily. It also should be noted that a little drop goes quite a long way!

These products sound amazing! I love the photos too. I have the same problem with acne around my jawline. I have all these small white cystic white bumps when I drink milk or have hormonal breakouts. I currently use sulfer spot treatments which help a bit. I started using Erzo vitamin c peel and it’s helped brighten my skin almost immediately… which is freaking unheard of for me ever unless I see a really good facialist. If I find that doesn’t help with the acne with the sulfer, I’ll have to check out the overnight healer! Thanks for sharing!!
